Grass Hockey Players Wanted!

Canterbury has a proud tradition of being one of the only places left in the country playing grass hockey and we want to keep the Grass grade going by creating a mixed club fourth team in both the men's and women's grades. The grass competition is a very social, yet competitive, grade, played on Saturday afternoons at various grass fields around Christchurch.

Sunday League Mens Team Naming

The Sunday League Men have won the ‘Premiership’ both times since it was introduced in 2021. The side will be coached again by  Chris Goldsbury Good luck to all the lads, and welcome to those who are joining the club for the first time this season.

CPL Womens Team 2023

We are pleased to name our Premier Women’s team, the Reindeer, with a competitive side named after seeing a number of key players move on from last year. 2023 sees the return of CHA Coach of the Year Andrew Hastie, after a successful first season in charge where the team claimed the Rosebowl & Porritt Cup. 2023 REDDOS CLUB CAPTAINS - Alex Stuart and Tanyia Legge

We are delighted to welcome Alex Stuart as our Mens Club Captain, after farewelling Golds from the role last year. We are equally delighted to welcome Tanyia Legge as our Women's Club Captain, taking over the reigns from Lydia Shirley. Thank you Alex and Tanyia for being prepared to do this and all the work you have done on the pre-season sessions and trials so far. Thanks again to Lydia Shirley and Mr Goldsbury for their work, advice and enthusiasm in the past years as Club Captains.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION  In 2023 you will only need one login, your PlayHQ login to register for the season with our club.  PlayHQ is CHA and NZ Hockey's database introduced in 2022.  As a club we are still working through how to most effectively use PlayHQ for our club needs so the pre-season trials, sessions and expressions of interest has a bit of a mix of google form  trial registrations & PlayHQ. See below AFTER TEAMS and subs are finalised we will send you a link for your team rego

CHANGE SUNDAY PRE-SEASON TIME AND TURF

SENIORS- Y11+ CHANGE to VENUE AND TIME of SUNDAY 26 FEB OPEN SEASON TRAINING You might be aware that currently the watering systems are not functioning at Nga Puna Wai. As a consequence of this we have had to make some significant changes to Sunday. Both sessions will now be at Nunweek Park on the brand new water turf.
